A LECTURE ON HOW I LEARNED TO TIME TRAVEL

ARTIST: Lisa Mårtensson

A performance lecture about an excavation of memory, nostalgia and the fear of things to come.

“We recognize objects with the help of memory. Is it possible then to reverse the process and gain memory from an object? To travel in to the memory through objects?”

It is said that events travel from being in the future, to the present and then on to becoming past.
It is said that the past and the future does not exist. It is also said that time itself does not really exist … that it is only in our perception of the world that time is created.
It is said that it is only because we have a beginning that time appear to our perception.
And in having a beginning we seem to be traveling forward in time meeting the events that come towards us on their way to the past.

“Why does it seem like every where in time I go, it’s the end of the fucking world?”
